An eternity ring is a band set with a continuous line of diamonds, either all the way around the finger or across the front. At Evermore Diamonds in Dubai, explore lab-grown diamond eternity rings in round, oval and pear cuts, with full and half eternity designs to suit different preferences. See them at our Wafi Mall boutique or order online with free shipping across the UAE.

Full Eternity or Half Eternity?

The first choice is how far the diamonds travel around the band.

  • Full eternity: diamonds circle the whole finger, so the ring sparkles from every angle and looks the same however it turns. The Lune Oval Eternity Band sets a continuous row of oval diamonds, 6.11 carats in total, all the way around a white gold band.
  • Half eternity: diamonds run across the top of the band only, with plain metal underneath. That leaves the palm side smooth and generally makes the band easier to resize, depending on the design and metal. The Albane Round Half Band sets round diamonds, 0.5 carats in total, across the front of an 18K white gold band.

A half eternity band may be more practical if future resizing is a concern, while a full eternity band gives the most diamonds and an uninterrupted line of light.

Shop Eternity Bands by Diamond Shape

Because most eternity bands repeat a single diamond shape, the cut changes the whole character of the ring.

  • Round: the classic eternity band, bright and even, as in the Albane Round Half Band above.
  • Oval: a softer, longer outline. The Pauline Oval Half Band holds oval diamonds in shared prongs, 0.5 carats in total, in 18K white gold.
  • Pear: pointed stones that create movement along the band. The Cecile Pear Half Band angles 2 carats of pear diamonds so each flows into the next.

Use the shape filter above to compare every eternity band in a single cut.

How Eternity Bands Are Set

The setting decides how much of each diamond you see and how the band wears.

  • Shared prong: each prong holds two neighbouring stones, keeping metal to a minimum so the diamonds appear to touch, as on the Pauline Oval Half Band.
  • Claw: individual claws lift each stone, letting in more light from the sides.
  • Channel: the diamonds sit between two walls of metal, which protects their edges and gives a smooth surface.

Check the product details for the setting each design uses, and compare more than one style on the hand before choosing.

Understanding Total Carat Weight

The carat weight shown for an eternity band is the combined weight of all its diamonds, not the size of each stone. A 2 carat eternity band carries many smaller diamonds adding up to 2 carats, so it will look very different from a 2 carat solitaire. Larger individual stones mean fewer diamonds around the band and a bolder look; smaller stones give a finer, more continuous line. Use the carat filter above to compare total weights.

Choosing Your Size

Sizing matters more for an eternity band than for most rings. A full eternity band has diamonds where a jeweller would normally cut and adjust the metal, so it usually cannot be resized easily once made. Have your finger measured by a jeweller before you order, ideally at the end of the day, when fingers are slightly larger. Half eternity bands leave plain metal underneath, which is why they are generally easier to adjust, though this depends on the design and metal.

Wearing an Eternity Band

An eternity band is often given for an anniversary, the birth of a child or a milestone birthday, and many people wear one as a wedding band. It also sits naturally beside an engagement ring: a thin half eternity band works well with a solitaire engagement ring, adding sparkle without competing with the centre stone. Lab-Grown Diamond Eternity Rings

An eternity band can hold a dozen or more diamonds, so the choice of diamond shapes the budget more than in most rings. Because lab-grown diamonds are generally priced below mined diamonds of comparable quality, the same budget may stretch to larger stones, a full rather than a half band, or a better-matched set of diamonds.

Caring for an Eternity Band

With many small stones in a row, an eternity band benefits from regular cleaning and a periodic check of its settings, especially if worn every day. Our jewellery care guide explains what to do between professional cleanings.
